Vos Logistics entscheidet sich für Qualcomms Satellitenkommunikationsdienste

- Vos wird Qualcomms EutelTRACS Service für die Kommunikation mit seinem Fuhrpark nutzen -

WAALRE - 6. Februar 2002 - Qualcomm Incorporated (Nasdaq: QCOM), das führende Unternehmen im Bereich mobile Kommunikation für die Transportindustrie, hat heute angekündigt, dass Vos Logistics, ein führender europäischer Spediteur mit Sitz in den Niederlanden, einen Vertrag über drei Jahre unterschrieben hat, um von seinem derzeitigen Lieferanten zu Qualcomm Wireless Business Solutions Europe b.v., einer hundertprozentigen Tochtergesellschaft von Qualcomm, zu wechseln. Entsprechend der Vertragsbedingungen liefert Qualcomm Enterprise Services Europe robuste, zuverlässige Satellitenkommunikationsdienste für den fast 2000 Fahrzeuge umfassenden Fuhrpark von Vos Logistics über das EutelTRACS® Netzwerk. EutelTRACS ist der Servicename in Europa für Qualcomms mobiles Kommunikationssystem auf Satellitenbasis OmniTRACS®, das Eutelsat S.A. Satelliten- und Netzwerkdienste nutzt.

Die Kombination von EutelTRACS’ Satellitenkommunikationsservice und Vos Logistics’ Informationssystem LOVOS ermöglicht es Vos, seinen eigenen Kunden Verfolgungsmöglichkeiten in Echtzeit zu bieten. Das Lovos System nutzt ebenfalls über EutelTRACS übertragene Daten für Frachtzuweisung, Streckenoptimierung, Fuhrparkmanagement und Ausnahmenberichte. Dank dieser Datenextrapolierung erhalten die Kunden von Vos über Internet oder elektronischen Datenaustausch einen kompletten Überblick über Lieferungen.

Vos Logistics (www.voslogistics.com) ist auf den Transport von Trockenschüttgut, verpackten Gütern und flüssigen Massengütern, vollständige und kleinere Ladungen und intermodale Lösungen spezialisiert. Vos Logistics verfügt über mehr als 3.000 LKWs, 6.000 Anhänger und Container, 350.000 m2 Lagerraum, 325 Lagersilos, zwei Schienenservicecenter und sechs Tankreinigungsstationen.
