Qualcomm kündigt Einsatz des mobilen Kommunikationssystems EutelTRACS bei der Supermarktkette Safeway an

- Safeway - Produktionssteigerung dank des Fuhrparkmanagementsystems -

SAN DIEGO - 3. Juni 2002 - Qualcomm Incorporated (Nasdaq: QCOM), das führende Unternehmen im Bereich mobile Kommunikation für die Transportindustrie, hat heute angekündigt, dass Safeway Stores plc, eine der führenden Supermarktketten im Vereinigten Königreich, Qualcomm ausgewählt hat, um das mobile Kommunikationssystem EutelTRACS™ in seinen gesamten Fuhrpark zu integrieren. Entsprechend der Vertragsbedingungen wird Qualcomm Wireless Business Solutions Europe Geräte und Dienste für die Satellitenkommunikation für Safeways landesweiten Fuhrpark über das EutelTRACS-Netzwerk liefern.

EutelTRACS ist der Servicename in Europa für Qualcomms mobiles Kommunikationssystem OmniTRACS®, das Eutelsat S.A. Satelliten- und Netzwerkdienste nutzt.

Die Kombination von Qualcomms Lösung und Safeways integriertem Transportmanagementsystem ermöglicht es Safeway, seine Verteilungsressourcen und Leistungsdaten in Echtzeit zu verwalten. Dank dieser Kontrolle kann Safeway seine Fuhrparkauslastung optimieren, unprofitable Wege reduzieren, die Sicherheit verbessern sowie durch eine genaue Untersuchung der Kraftstoffnutzung sowohl des Fahrzeugs als auch des Fahrers die Auswirkungen auf die Umwelt reduzieren.
